In the Divergent series by Veronica Roth the characters experience the importance of having a multifaceted personality.  Like the message of these books, I am a strong believer that being a well-rounded person is an important quality. To accomplish this, I stay busy by studying Civil Engineering at Michigan Technological University, fulfilling my duties as a member of the CXC elite team and Coaching the Ski Tiger’s Devo Team. Many people have asked me, “How do you do it all?” a question that I never really know how to answer. All of these activities are a ton of fun and being able to achieve goals in activities that I love is something that motivates me to keep reaching higher. I don’t usually think about the time commitment it takes to achieve them, I just do it. Being involved with all of these activities has provided an innumerable amount of learning experiences, many of which I’m still learning from and figuring out their real importance. Sometimes things really suck, and sometimes their absolutely amazing. Like the Olympic Creed states “…the most important thing in life is not the triumph but the struggle. The essential thing is not to have conquered but to have fought well.” It is one of my goals to learn something new each day, to enjoy every minute as it happens and to help others to do the same. To remember that it is the combination of our experiences that make us who we are. This blog is a collection of these experiences, ski racing, studying, supervising, adventuring, being creative and spending time with the people I love. I hope you enjoy it!
